Privacy Policy
American Carry Guide is an independent private informational website. We built this guide to keep data collection as small as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-up form, and nothing you type into the eligibility check leaves your browser. This page explains exactly what we do know, what we pass along when you click an application button, and who to write to with questions.
Who runs this site
American Carry Guide is a privately owned consumer information website. We are not a government agency, a law enforcement bureau, or a state licensing division, and we do not issue permits. We publish research and paperwork guides, and we link to an independent application preparation service that we may be paid to refer people to.
What the eligibility check collects
The three question check on the home page runs entirely inside your browser. Your state selection and your two answers are held in that browser tab to show you a result, and they are never sent to our servers. Close the tab and the answers are gone.
URL parameters and what we forward
When you arrive here from an ad, a newsletter, or a partner link, the web address may carry tracking parameters such as affid, oid, utm_source, click_id, or fbclid. Those identify the campaign, not you personally. Our page keeps them for the length of your visit and copies them onto the application link we hand to the partner service, so the referral is credited correctly. If you arrive with no parameters, we add our own default referral identifiers. We do not attach your name, email address, or contact details to them.
What happens when you click an application button
Application buttons send you to our partner, Rush Permit, at rushpermit.com. From that moment their own privacy policy governs, and they collect the personal information needed to prepare and file your paperwork, such as your name, address, date of birth, and payment details. We never see or store that information. Read their policy before you submit anything.
Cookies and tracking scripts
This guide loads no advertising pixels, no analytics scripts, and no third party cookies of its own, and it sets no cookies. If you reached us by clicking an ad, the advertising platform may set its own cookies in your browser; that happens on their side and is covered by their policy, not ours.
Server logs kept by our host
Like every website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider that automatically records standard technical details for security and billing: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. We do not build advertising profiles from these logs, and we do not sell them.
Do we sell or share personal information?
No. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not knowingly receive it. Nothing on this site meets the definition of a sale or share under state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Children
This guide is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
If we change how information is handled, we update this page and its date. Material changes are not applied retroactively.
